How Much Does a Will Cost?

Hourly Rate

A Wills Attorney can charge you an hourly rate to draft your Last Will and Testament, which can be anywhere from $250 to $500 per hour, which usually depends on the attorney’s experience and the location where the attorney is located. (ie., Miami, Los Angeles, etc.) So, if the attorney takes two hours to draft your Last Will and he or she charges $300 per hour, your cost would be $600. The length of time to draft your Will depends on the complexity of your circumstances. For example, you many have minor children that may require you to designate a Guardian in your Will and you may also need to designate a Trustee to manage your minor children’s property until they reach the age of 18, 21, 25, etc. But all of this will be discussed at your initial consultation.

Flat Rate

The Wills Attorney can charge you a flat fee. The flat fee just like the hourly rate will usually depend on the attorney’s experience and the location where the attorney is located. An attorney can charge anywhere from $300 to $1200 to draft your Last Will and Testament. Again, this would be discussed at your initial consultation.
